I was delighted to visit Coastwatch at Teignmouth on Friday and meet with Eddy Stephenson, Station Manager, and the team. The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) is an entirely voluntary organisation keeping a visual watch along UK shores and each station assists in the protection and preservation of life at sea and around the UK coastline. NCI watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility.
It was a pleasure to see the state of the art facility and I was fortunate enough to visit on a beautiful day which afforded spectacular views of our stunning coast line!
