Anne Marie won re-election early on Friday morning after increasing her majority from 11,288 to 17,160. Overall she won 28,635 votes, an increase of 8.2% on 2015.
The result was declared just after 02:30 on Friday morning at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre where the count had been taking place. Speaking after being elected Anne Marie said:
“I am delighted to be returned as MP for Newton Abbot this morning. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this campaign and for the past seven years. I am now looking forward to getting back to Parliament, delivering on the pledges that I have made and continuing the work that we have started over the last two years”
