The NHS

The NHS

Since 2010 the NHS is one of only three areas where spending has not been cut as part of the economic recovery programme. £12.7 billion of extra money has been put into the NHS over the past five years and the Conservative plan is to pump a further £2 billion into it every year going forward. The NHS now has over 23,000 more clinical staff than it did in 2010, including an extra 9,500  doctors.

Over the past five years the NHS carried out 9 million more operations than it did in the previous five.I am very proud of our NHS and want it to be the best it can be. I think the 5 year plan put together by Simon Stephens who heads the NHS is a good one.  I am against the privatisation of the NHS but I do think there is a benefit for the NHS and for the taxpayer from outsourcing a limited number of services such as private contracts with GPs.
