Anne Marie has been calling on the government to invest in diesel rolling stock for use on the railways in Devon, following the cancellation of electrification and the announcement that new rolling stock will terminate at Exeter.
Anne Marie said
"These above inflation fare increases are another pressure on already stretched household budgets. The government talks about investment in our railways, but in Devon passengers will continue to rely on badly overcrowded, dilapidated diesel rolling stock. I will be pressuring ministers to make the necessary improvements to local stations and rolling stock, so that rail users receive the premium service they deserve and pay for."
