According to a study in the Lancet, 45 per cent of pregnancies and one third of births in England are unplanned or associated with feelings of ambivalence. Public Health England has previously highlighted the impact of unplanned pregnancies on the mental and physical health of both women and children.
Improving access to information, advice and services are crucial to helping women to make an informed decision around pregnancy, and supporting good reproductive health. I want to assure you that the Government has been working tirelessly to ensure that the best possible pregnancy care is available across the United Kingdom, and I will continue to scrutinise provision to ensure the best possible support is available for my constituents.
