New Flood Defences

Over the past four years Anne Marie has squeezed over £20 million out of the Government for new coastal flood defences. The schemes at Teignmouth and Shaldon are now complete and have been successfully put to the test. The Dawlish work was delayed by last winter’s storms but work on the beach and groynes has now resumed. Described as a “redoubtable campaigner”, Anne Marie brought the Minister down to talk to local villages about local flood prevention measures and compensation. She is pressing for more money and faster pay-outs and for more funding for local councils to put in place schemes to protect local communities.
