Sainsbury’s in Dawlish invited Anne Marie to spend an afternoon with some of their members of staff behind the food counter. After learning about hygiene standards and preparing her own pizza it was a good opportunity to discover how Sainsbury’s prepare their employees to handle produce.
With seven Food College’s around the country, thousands of staff members who work with meat, fish, baked goods and hot food receive externally accredited training to ensure the highest possible standards.
Speaking after her time behind the counter, Anne Marie commented, “It was a pleasure to spend some time with those responsible for preparing a range of food for customers. I am delighted to see Sainsbury’s invest a lot of time and money into making sure their staff are qualified to handle and prepare meat, fish and other fresh produce.”
