Anne Marie won re-election last night after increasing her majority from 523 to 11,288. Overall she won 22,794 votes, an increase of 4.3% from 2010.
The result was declared at 5am on the morning of 8 May at Newton Abbot Racecourse, where the count had been taking place. Speaking shortly after the results were declared, Anne Marie said, “It is a real privilege to be re-elected as the Member of Parliament for the Newton Abbot constituency. We have managed to achieve so much over the last 5 years and I want to do a lot more over the next 5 years. I feel honoured that people have put their trust in me to continue representing them in Parliament, it really is a phenomenal result. I will do my level best to continue to make Teignbridge an even better place to live, to work and to bring up a family."
