This morning I officially opened Clay Pits Way in Kingsteignton, with the help of local pupils William and Lily who won a competition to name the new stretch of road.
A 1.5 mile stretch of the B3193 has been diverted away from the Kingsteignton ball clay works which will provide safety benefits for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, while still allowing access to the clay works using the existing road.
Without this new stretch of road, the 100 jobs at Sibelco provided directly in Kingsteignton could have been in real doubt, so I'm delighted to see it finally finished.
