On Tuesday 19th April, Anne Marie met with the Western Route Managing Director Mark Langman in Westminster. They discussed many aspects of the route and the forthcoming reports that are going to be released.
There was good news on the horizon with the news that the new bi-model trains will be phased in with a full rolling stock having been introduced by the end of 2018. In the meantime we shall be receiving newer diesel trains cascading into the region from London and the South East starting before the end of the year!
Finally they discussed the flooding problem that has hampered Cockwood. Network Rail have done a drainage report and completed work on all the drains that belong to them in and around the affected area. They are now waiting to meet with local stakeholders and work jointly with them to rectify the remaining problems.
Mark has only been in the job for six months however I look forward to continue working with him and his team. It’s clear that he’s enthusiastic and has shown real commitment to helping improve the network in the region.
