Anne Marie at Teignmouth Pier to cheer on Rhys Dixon at the start of his charity swim
3rd August 2010
Local MP, Anne Marie Morris, was on hand today to help cheer on local young sportsman, Rhys Dixon, at the start of his charity swim from Teignmouth to Dawlish on behalf of local charity Richard’s Wish.
Along with friends, relatives and other members of the public Anne Marie was there at the start of his 6km swim.
Anne Marie said, “As a Member of Parliament a lot of my work is people asking for my help but when I heard what Rhys was intending to do for this worthy local charity I found it inspirational. So many people talk down younger people and highlight a lot of the negative things, but here is a young person doing something for someone else. I know his mum and family are very proud of him.”
Anne Marie went on to say “I’m pleased I was able to be there today, along with lots of others, to see him at the start. He is very courageous and an example of what society should be about.”
