Bringing In Superfast Broadband

Anne Marie fought hard to get a share of the £362 million pot of money set aside by the Government for superfast broadband across the country back in 2011. Working with the County Council and Local Enterprise Partnership, she was delighted when Devon and Somerset were given over £31 million, the biggest share in the country. The balance of funding required to match the government money has now almost been raised and the roll-out target is for 96% coverage by 2017. Anne Marie however wants 100% coverage and is pressing the Government to offer subsidies for satellite broadband for the remotest areas where this is the only option.
